Overview

Southern Tablelands Arts (STARTS) was established in 1996 as the Southern Tablelands Regional Arts Advisory Council.

Now known fondly as STARTS, the organisation is the peak body for the arts and culture sector in the Southern Tablelands, Highland, and parts of the Central Tablelands and South Coast of regional New South Wales. Our region covers the distance between Sydney and Canberra and beyond. The lsndscape is as diverse and beautiful as the people we service.

STARTS supports arts and cultural development across all mediums. Support is provided by way of access to funding programs;advice; referrals; promotion of activities and our own projects.

STARTS works in partnership with eight local government areas: Upper Lachlan, Boorowa, Yass Valley, Queanbeyan City, Palerang, Goulburn Mulwaree, Wingercarribee and Wollondilly.

A board of 10 volunteers, who represent the eight local government areas serviced by the organization, governs STARTS: and the organisation is staffed by the Regional Arts Development Officer (RADO) and a part time administration assistant based in the Goulburn Office with the RADO constantly on the road.
